What is stored

We set one cookie, named really-ai-consent. It holds a version number and which categories you accepted. It carries no identifier, so on its own it cannot recognise your browser.

The cookie lasts six months. Clearing your browser data removes it, and this page returns to its starting state.

Page analytics

We count page views with Plausible, which runs on our own server. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device, and it identifies a visit with a number that is salted and replaced every day, so it cannot follow you between days or across other sites. We also use Google Analytics 4, which is run by Google and writes _ga cookies to your device.

We use them to see which pages get read and how readers arrive at them.

Google Analytics is off unless you allow analytics, and a withdrawal stops it from your next page view. Plausible runs without asking because it stores nothing, but it honours your browser's Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals and stops sending when either is set.

The Apollo website tracker

The Apollo website tracker is run by Apollo.io, which processes the data for us through the shared Aperim Apollo account. It records the pages you visit and tries to identify the person and company behind a visit. It sets its own cookies when it runs.

We use it to see which pages get read and which organisations are looking at the site.

The tracker is off unless you turn it on. Rejecting it changes nothing about what you can read or buy here, and the site works the same either way.

Error monitoring

GlitchTip records when a page on this site fails in your browser, so the fault can be found and fixed. It runs on our own server, sets no cookie, and holds no identifier of you. The reports it receives leave out who you are, your request headers and any code or token in the page address.

Error monitoring runs without asking. It is not used to measure you or to advertise to you, only to find faults, and because it holds no identifier it cannot recognise you from one page view to the next.

Changing your mind

Change your choice at any time on this page. Once you have made one, the banner stops asking.

Turning a category off takes effect from your next page view. A script that has already loaded into this page cannot be removed by the page that loaded it, and this page does not claim otherwise.
